Apply to become a WEPs signatory

All businesses stand to benefit from gender equality and women’s empowerment. The WEPs platform offers the private sector guidance on advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. By joining the WEPs, you get access to a global network of like-minded companies, as well as events, tools and resources to support your WEPs journey.

Support for the seven Principles has gathered global momentum – nearly 12,000 companies in 160 countries have adopted the WEPs and embarked on the WEPs Journey. Their progress and results also contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Joining the WEPs network is straightforward. You can apply to become a signatory by completing the application form below. Before you get started, please make sure:

  1. Your organization is eligible to apply: Private sector companies, industry associations, chambers of commerce, social enterprises and cooperatives are eligible to apply.
  2. The highest-level decision maker in your company has signed the CEO Statement of Support. Only the official template of the CEO Statement of Support will be accepted, without modifications

Quick Tips Before You Submit

Before you submit your application, please consult: 

To help us approve your application faster and avoid follow-up requests, please keep these common tips in mind:

  • Use standard capitalization. Please avoid writing company names, CEO names, or job titles in ALL CAPS unless this is how the company is officially registered or presented in its legal business records. 
  • Upload the official CEO Statement of Support. Make sure you are using the current WEPs CEO Statement of Support template without modifications.
  • Provide a meaningful CEO quote. We encourage a short but substantive statement that explains why gender equality matters to your company and how you intend to advance the WEPs. Generic one-line statements may require revision. 
  • Upload a professional CEO headshot. The photo should clearly feature only the CEO or top executive, from the shoulders up. Company logos, group photos, or heavily cropped images cannot be used. 
  • Review your company details before submitting. Check that your website, headquarters country, company type, and CEO information are accurate and up to date to help avoid delays during the verification process
