To close off the year, on 16 December 2024, UN Women convened the 2024 WEPs Annual Meeting in Jordan.
More than 250 participants, including the Jordanian National Commission for Women, ambassadors and WEPs signatories, gathered to share progress, lessons learned and reaffirm the private sector’s collective commitment to advancing gender equality in leadership, the workplace, marketplace, and community. They explored topics, such as boosting women’s employment, supporting Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision, and increasing women’s participation in the labour force.
With 188 signatories, Jordan leads the Arab States in the number of WEPs signatories, reflecting the private sector’s collective commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Adopting the WEPs is a strategic decision that delivers enhanced reputation and brand value, increased market access and growth, increased investments, and improved financial performance.
