We are Wanita Vanita. We started this platform for conversations on diversity and respect. As executive coaches, we help our clients look at themselves with new eyes, so they look at their goals - and often their life with new possibilities. We ask questions such as these -
"How do you show up in life? What do you care about? What conversations do you hear/see around you? What beliefs do you have about yourself? Are they true? What are your stories? What are your perspectives? "
In this forum, we hope to bring to you some perspectives from us, all of us, humans. However, at this point in our shared history, we really want to turn our spotlight on conversations about and by women.
Being Asian and living in Asia, we looked around our cities and countries to find out what conversations/stories about women are being told. There were plenty, but we didn't find were many role models. We simply don't know enough to follow their lives as an inspiration for others.
So we looked at each other and said "Let's create those stories!"
So here we are.
Now. On Facebook. Sharing these chats. They were too awesome to keep only with us! Here are conversations with women - women who have followed an unique path to their success. Who are these women? What are their beliefs? What lessons can we learn from their journeys.
We bring to you our Asian Women Role Models. Watch the clips. Listen to them. Lets begin a conversation...

We had the pleasure to interview Ibu Shanti – Shanti L. Poesposoetjipto of PT Samudera Indonesia. A true Role Model for us in Asia. She’s a pattern breaker and a shining example of what grit, patience and inner strength looks like. This video is 1 out of 3 we have on what she shared with us.
In this, she has the PERFECT answer to managers dithering to hire women (Because! Ibu, they get pregnant!)
It’s true. There is a moment of hesitancy and doubt when hiring young women. Let’s be specific. Women of child-bearing age.
Who are these dinosaurs you ask? They are all around us. Read these 3 articles – all from 2014 but the world hasn’t dramatically changed since then (Wait! US Elections! Ok it didn’t change dramatically for the better since then)

We lack a specific hard-hitting answer to really get to the heart of this dilemma.
It’s a career or a baby. Why should that be the only choice? Listen to Ibu Shanti scoring a big one for womankind! An unapologetic feminist – the kind who rolls her sleeves up and lands a punch when needed! Pow!!
