2025 marks 15 year of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) the largest global framework and platform for private sector action on gender equality. To mark this occasion, the WEPs Global Secretariat launched the 2025 WEPs Global Survey in Q2.
The Survey was designed to better understand how WEPs signatory companies have operationalized their WEPs commitment, and to capture insights on their progress, challenges, motivations, and future priorities in engaging with the WEPs. It also aimed to inform the strategic direction of the WEPs initiative, including through the continuous improvement of resources and tools, and for UN Women and the WEPs Secretariat to meet the evolving needs of businesses worldwide.
Over 800 private sector entities across 118 countries shared how they are advancing gender equality through the WEPs. The data tells a story of rising ambition. Yet, progress is uneven. Watch the recording of this launch event, where we shared key messages from the survey report and invite key stakeholders, working on advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in the private sector.
