Generation Equality: UN Women engagement opportunities for the private sector

Gender inequality is one of the largest economic and social costs to society. Women earn only one-tenth of global income while they contribute to two-thirds of the entirety of working hours. At the current rate, the gender equality gap in economic opportunities will take 268 years to close.

We need bold, big and faster steps.

In the past 10 years, UN Women has designed different models of partnerships with the private sector to advance gender equality in the workplace, marketplace and community. This video outlines these initiatives.

The video was produced under the WE EMPOWER-G7 programme of UN Women, ILO and the European Union. UN Women is grateful for EU's support.
