The speakers discussed how WEPs signatories can develop their own mentoring programmes. The event explored promising practices in mentoring programme design and delivery, and highlighted lessons learned of other WEPs signatories.

THE EVENT

The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a set of seven principles offering guidance to business on how to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community.

Mentoring is an effective and increasingly popular way for private sector companies to advance Principle 4 to “Promote women’s training and professional development”. Well-designed and managed mentoring programmes can have a dramatic impact on the corporate culture while engaging talent.

Companies establish mentoring programmes to provide women employees with an informal opportunity to learn and acquire leadership and management skills. Mentoring tend to lead to higher financial compensation, greater number of promotions and career success. By improving employee satisfaction and engagement, mentoring can also improve a company’s performance.

This webinar showcase how WEPs signatories can develop their own mentoring programmes. The event will explore promising practices in mentoring programme design and delivery, and highlight lessons learned of other WEPs signatories.
