Gender equality benefits everyone. This is one of the reasons it’s number 5 in the Sustainable Development Goals and it is everyone's responsibility to work towards making it a reality. Achieving gender equality is important in the workplace not only because it is 'fair' and 'the right thing to do,' but because in this day and age a progressive work environment through the equal representation of women should be the ONLY way forward. I am personally committed to the WEP principles and at Sustainable First we are all thrilled to join the WEP platform and help stimulate engagement of the business community in the issue of gender equality to advance women’s empowerment.
