Romesh David (M)

Chief Executive Officer

We are deeply committed to creating a better balanced and more inclusive workforce, in an industry that is largely male dominant. SAGT is actively working to achieve gender balance and promotes the inclusion of women in the workforce through participation in public for initiatives to reform antiquated laws and regulations that inhibit the employment of women, continuing sponsorship and support of organisations and industry associations that encourage and promote the participation of women in the maritime and logistics industries; and more directly by setting ambitious goals and targets for ourselves. Whilst our policies and processes aim to create a fair and equitable working environment for all our employees, we actively work towards fostering these same principles of fairness and equity beyond the boundaries of the workplace too. Engaging with the spouses and children of our people through lasting, formal and interactive outreach programmes and the implementation this year of a paternity leave policy for all male employees, are examples of a compelling policy backdrop in which the more equal sharing of familial and parenting responsibilities between men and women is encouraged. Growing the number of women at all levels in the organisation is a priority for us and we will also continue to evolve our processes through digitisation and automation initiatives that will allow more women to have equal access to employment within our company.
