As an avid gender equity activist, I am strongly committed to women empowerment both professionally as well as through volunteering. SABERA - The Social and Business Enterprise Responsible Awards & Summit, an annual property that I founded and curate, has a dedicated gender diversity & inclusion category to amplify individuals, companies, and nonprofits who are doing commendable work in alignment with SDG5. So far I have introduced the same in 4 other media & marketing industry award shows. Besides this, we encourage work from home moms or girls from an economically section to work with us to execute the event. There is always also a conscious decision of involving girls who have challenged debilitating circumstances to anchor the event. From the daughter of a gardner, to a street vendor flower seller, from a daughter of a sex worker to the daughter of a launderer all have successively been the face of SABERA sharing their inspiring stories of change through education. Besiides this WE also regularly conduct menstrual hygiene workshops across slums and institutions encouraging sustainable menstrual hygiene, busting myths around periods and distributing menstrual cups Free of cost. Women Empowerment across all sections of society is an integral part of the development of the country and I am grateful for the formal outreach of WEPs. And a proud signatory on behalf of all the different brands /Initiatives under the Simply Suparnaa Media Network.
