Shell Turkey

Ahmet Erdem (M)

Shell Turkey Country Chair

At Shell, we work to provide an environment where all employees feel valued and included, able to nurture their talent as individuals and as part of a collaborative team. A diverse and inclusive workplace, embedded in our principles of honesty, integrity and respect for people, brings together remarkable people and enables them to be themselves. Our employees can apply and develop their skills and knowledge as part of a collaborative team that is helping to innovate and play a part in building a better energy future. We’re committed to inspiring change in the workplace and continue to focus on attracting and developing females in the workplace. The energy sector has been a male-dominated industry and it is important that women have career development opportunities and know that they will be empowered as they pursue them. We give women the opportunity to develop their careers, learn leadership qualities and overcome the obstacles they could face in the workplace. We also provide women with opportunities to work at retail stations as station managers, front-line salespeople, market salespeople, shift supervisors, accountants, and administrative affairs specialists, among other roles. Our aim is to offer employment opportunities to five thousand women in 2023, the 100th anniversary of Shell's operations in Turkey. By signing the Women’s Empowerment Principles, we demonstrate that we are committed to keep our work to close the gender gap and create open and inclusive culture.
