According to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, one of the seventeen critical elements of socio-economic development is gender equality. Taking this frame of reference into consideration, we strongly believe that long-term sustainable development can only be achieved through equal opportunity in both business and social life. This is even more so in emerging and developing countries such as Turkey. Also, from a macro-economic perspective, there is a close relationship/positive correlation between countries’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) levels and women’s access to the labor market. Although each country/society has its own unique dynamics, there are some certain aspects that are shared globally in terms of achieving gender equality. As one of the global players in the technology industry, we are, as Reeder, committed to promoting women empowerment through providing them equal opportunities from top to bottom. The reason behind this logic is that, increasing awareness about equal opportunities will not only empower women in business life, but will also transform the whole society. Derived from this perspective, we support women through the fields of employment and entrepreneurship. Reeder considers gender equality as one of the main characteristics of corporate culture through its application on the whole decision making processes. We believe in power, efficiency and the value that women contribute to the business life; thus, we provide the necessary prioritization to our female employees through our Human Resources practices. We treat all employees fairly and equilly, by offering equal pay for equal work. The number of our female employees is 175, while 60% of our managers are women. We also provide equal rights and opportunities for all our employees, and we believe that it is the only way of sustaining our dynamic pattern, strength in the sector and brand loyalty in the eyes of our stakeholders. From this standpoint, we are very proud to be a part of the Women Empowerment Principles which will be a driving power for our continuing efforts and commitments.
