Portland Private Equity

Douglas Hewson (M)

Managing Partner

As a general partner of growth equity funds, our job is to find and build value for our businesses. Applying the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) to our growth equity investing supports our view that embracing gender diversity leads to superior returns. Implementing the principles in our daily operations makes us a better GP team. Consistent with our experience building ESG principles across our investment process and into our portfolio companies, incorporating a gender lens is necessary as a value lever, resulting in competitively advantaged businesses. The WEPs framework guides us in the process of incorporating the gender lens into our vision and strategy, and the Gender Gap Analysis Tool enables detailed gender evaluation of investments.
