Mongolia has made remarkable progress in ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women. As the Founder and Managing Partner of Onch & Company, a professional services firm with over 20 years of successful operation and former Deloitte member firm, I am one example of how Mongolian business and society values vision, capability, and meritocracy. Yet, traditional notions of patriarchy still influence leadership and decision-making today. Even as our Constitution guarantees equality, women continue to face subtle and overt barriers, from micro aggressions in workplaces to the persistence of gender-based violence. As leaders and mentors for the next generation of women, we share the responsibility to challenge outdated norms and build systems where respect, dignity, and opportunity are universal. Joining the Women’s Empowerment Principles is one of the many steps we have taken and will continue to take toward that vision.
