I like working with women because they are creative and innovative, but at the same time practical, reliable and well prepared for the tasks they take on. Their enthusiasm is infectious and they have the belief that the sky is the limit, while keeping their feet firmly on the ground. They are the driving force behind any positive change because they can see the big picture and have the courage to stand up for what they believe in. What can we do to empower women – on their own terms? Discussing specific challenges with them and listening carefully to what they have to say. Acknowledging their needs, understanding their unique strengths, and giving them space for self-actualisation. Then, and only then, will we have the chance to reach our full collective potential. That is why we are joining the Women’s Empowerment Principles initiative. Because we want to do this effectively. And inclusion is the key to building a better legal system and a better world together.
