At Eni we believe that all dimensions of diversity are of utmost importance and in particular gender equality is paramount in view of women’s fundamental role in the human development of every social group, from family to community. Our mission underlines that “our work is based on passion and innovation, on our unique strengths and skills, on the equal dignity of each person, recognizing diversity as a key value for human development”. Our approach to gender equality and empowerment is based on the fundamental principles of non-discrimination, equal opportunity and inclusion, as well as on work-life balance. Furthermore, gender equality is deeply integrated into the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to which Eni’s current corporate commitments and future targets are aligned. In order to convert these principles into real actions, our commitment to gender equality and empowerment is embedded into Eni’s regulations and its corporate governance. Furthermore, we are working to continuously integrating a gender-sensitive approach into our internal and external processes as well as our projects, to ensure that activities and objectives are genuinely inclusive. Eni is also integrating a gender perspective in its local development projects to ensure women are both beneficiaries and leaders of our initiatives. By signing the WEPs, we believe that Eni will have access to new and interesting opportunities to further strengthen its support to gender equality and empowerment and make progress in its journey towards reaching these goals.
