CarbonEthics believes that resilient communities and inclusive nature-based economies can thrive when women are able to contribute and benefit meaningfully from restoration and conservation efforts. We have taken steps to increase women’s participation both within our team and in the communities we work with, including through stronger representation in management, equitable policies that support women’s roles beyond the workplace, and initiatives that build women’s capacity to develop and benefit from mangrove-based community products and beyond. In our project design, women and younger generations play an important role in ensuring that restoration and conservation efforts can continue from one generation to the next. This is particularly important given the long-term nature of carbon projects, which can span at least 40 years. We are committed to strengthen inclusive participation, equal opportunity, and accountability throughout our work so women can shape resilient communities and sustainable economies we seek to build together.
