For me, gender equality is a production choice. I started Can Communicate to document impact, but I cannot truly document impact if half the perspectives are missing from my own team. Filmmaking is inherently immersive, and the industry continues to be male-dominated. Having women in technical and creative roles changes that dynamic. It builds trust, creates safer spaces, and brings forward stories and voices that might otherwise remain unheard. That is why I make a conscious effort to identify, recruit, and support women behind the camera, in editing rooms, and across production. This is how I put the Women's Empowerment Principles into practice—not just as a commitment, but as an integral part of how we tell stories.
