Gender inequality is a fundamental issue that deeply effects both social and business life all around the world. In Turkey, Information Technology (IT) is one of the leading industries where the gender gap is most heavily observed. As CALIGO, we have initiated our Women@CALIGO program in order to accomplish our gender equality commitments with concrete targets and practices. Currently, 3 in every 5 employee is female at CALIGO. Apart from our equal pay policy which crosses off any possibility of gender based pay discrimination, we also pledge to track our gender based data in multiple areas from which we can derive action plans with the aim of establishing gender equality. As CALIGO, we regard duty of care of children not only as a responsibility of women employees, but as a joint responsibility of all parents. For this reason, in order to support our employees’ work-life balance, we give our parent employees a day off on their kids’ first day of school and on their report card day and we also pledge to carry out practices where our women employees’ careers are not effected negatively during or after their maternal leaves. As a technology company, we hope that our pioneering gender equality practices can serve as an example for the IT industry.
