54% of our leadership team across our business are female. Every one of us can be strong leaders, regardless of gender. But does every organization give everyone, male or female, the same opportunities to do so? As the father of a daughter, I want to be part of the solution not the problem. It is not my daughter’s battle to fight, it is on all of us to ensure that battle no longer even exists. She does not need to seek permission from the world to be a leader. As an organization that is family owned, we whole heartedly understand the importance of equality and what that means not only for our business, but all businesses and society as a whole. We welcome the provisions of the Women’s Empowerment Principles – Equality Means Business, produced and disseminated by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Global Compact, and will continue to work towards measuring our actions towards this mission.
